Evans Whitaker, president of Anderson University, has been elected to the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. He is one of a 77-member body elected to represent approximately 800 member institutions.

Whitaker has more than 24 years of experience as a university administrator. Since coming to Anderson University as president in 2002, enrollment has increased 28 percent, the campus has expanded from 68 acres to 271 acres, the faculty has grown 28 percent, the university has been named to the top tier of Southern comprehensive institutions by U. S. News & World Report, and graduate programs in business and education have been implemented.
