John McKnight of Westminster, a retired Baptist pastor who has served as chaplain at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca for the past nine years, will sign copies of a new book, “From My Heart to Yours,” at 1 p.m. on Feb. 7 at the Beaverdam Baptist Association office in Seneca.

The book, published by The Benchmark Group in Nashville, is a collection of inspirational messages from ministers of the gospel. McKnight, who is in his 80s, is the author of three of the book’s entries, “Four Generations of Ministers,” “Always Right to Obey,” and “Asking for Additional Duty.”
An edition of “From My Heart to Yours” containing inspirational messages from the wives of ministers also will be available.
Both editions were compiled by Patti Hummel, the president of The Benchmark Group. She is a native of South Carolina and former member of Redd’s Branch Baptist Church in Aiken and Northside in Seneca, now Parkway Baptist Church.
McKnight’s son, John Jr., is senior pastor of Hepsibah Baptist Church in Seneca.
McKnight was the bi-vocational pastor of Faith Baptist Church for 11 years while working as supervisor at the Jantzen plant in Westminster. He served as interim pastor for five years at Long Creek Baptist Church and a year at Holly Springs, all three in the Beaverdam Association.
