MARK BORDEAUX was recently honored by Westside Baptist Church, Sumter, on his 10th anniversary as pastor. Hal Mayer, lead pastor at The Church at the Bay in Tampa, led in a roast of Bordeaux. “I am unworthy of such love, and I hope to express my deep gratitude to the Lord and his church for the rest of my life,” Bordeaux said.

 

EDDIE BOLIN has been called as senior pastor by Leawood Baptist Church, Greenville. He has served churches in Florida and North and South Carolina. Bolin and his his wife Tara have a daughter, Devin, and son, Jared.

 

JAKE PATTERSON has been called as student ministries director by Second Baptist Church, Laurens. He is a graduate of North Greenville University, where he was a member of the NGU Impact Team and was a student chaplain. Patterson was summer youth minister for Hurricane Baptist Church, Clinton, in 2007.

 

Daniel Walker

DANIEL WALKER began duties March 1 as minister of youth at Reedy Creek Baptist Church, Marion. He is a graduate of Liberty University and Liberty Seminary. He comes to Reedy Creek from Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Taylorsville, N.C.

 

DAVID COBB retired as pastor of Beulah Baptist Church, Abbeville, where he served for 15 years, with a medical disability following a back injury. He and his wife Tommie, former music director at Beulah, will live in the Wellford area.

 

Josh Phillips

JOSH PHILLIPS began duties March 8 as associate pastor at First Baptist Church, Gowensville. Previously, he was pastor of Little Mountain Baptist Church,Wellford, for two years. Phillips and his wife Brooke are parents of two daughters, Kate and Ava Grace. He is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Seminary and was ordained by First Baptist North Spartanburg in 2006.

 

LARRY MAYFIELD has retired as chaplain at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Greenville. He was a North American Mission Board-endorsed chaplain for the last nine years. He has served churches in Greer, Greenville, Orangeburg-Calhoun and North Greenville Baptist associations, as well as in Indiana. He and his wife Happy live in Travelers Rest. Mayfield plans to do interim and pulpit supply work.

 

Don Purvis

DONALD PURVIS SR. has been called as transitional pastor by Langston Baptist Church, Conway. He retired in 2000 from the pulpit of Lakeview Baptist Church, Hartsville, where he served 32 years. Since then he has served three churches through transitional periods.
