Ben Davis, left, president/CEO of Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, is pictured with former students Cecil and Frances Sandifer at the dedication of the new Sandifer Dining Hall on the Greenwood campus. The Sandifers are shown beside a portrait of them during their student days that will hang in the new facility. They are owners of the Sandifer Funeral Home in Westminster, where they have been very active in community and church endeavors. Sandifer is a former mayor, state house member, and South Carolina Employment Security Commissioner. Davis said, “Cecil and Frances are perfect representatives of Connie Maxwell, and they both give credit to our ministry for assisting them in their formative years. I can think of no couple that deserves this special recognition more. The generosity of the Sandifers, The Abney Foundation in Anderson, and others has made this important building a reality for us, and we are very appreciative.”
