‘Rally for Israel’ slated for May 17

Two South Carolina Baptists from Lexington are playing leading roles in plans to stage a “Rally for Israel” on May 17 on the grounds of the State House in Columbia.

Buddy and Della Adams, members of Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce who have traveled frequently in the Holy Land, said the purpose of the rally is “to show our support for Israel” with an aim of building “better relations between Christians and Jews.”

Speakers for the rally, which runs from 2-5 p.m., include South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson, State House Representative Mack Toole and Rabbi Jonathan Case of the Beth Shalom Synagogue in Columbia.

This will be the second rally in support of Israel held at the State House this year. The first, held in January, attracted approximately 200 people. Information on the rally is available by calling (803) 996-5680 or e-mailing ddounohm@aol.com.
