Reflecting the new tagline of Woman’s Missionary Union – “Change a Life. Change the World” – this year’s WMU annual meeting and missions celebration will seek to show how people can play a part in changing the world through missions.
The June 21-22 gathering will be at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., prior to the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention.
The celebration will include worship times; interactive breakout sessions; dialogue with international and North American field personnel; a missions fair; and an opportunity to change lives locally through the Baptist Fellowship Center in Louisville by bringing school supplies and backpacks for underprivileged children served by the center.
In addition, the Kentucky Baptist Convention’s disaster relief feeding and communications units will be onsite Sunday and, for a $5 donation, will provide a meal similar to what is served when they respond to disasters.
The WMU annual meeting and missions celebration is free, with no preregistration required. Those who wish to reserve a boxed lunch for June 22 can download a reservation form at www.wmu.com/events/annual to mail with payment or call Kentucky WMU at (502) 489-3534 to pay by credit card. Deadline for lunch reservations is June 10.
Registration and interactive activities begin on June 21, at 4 p.m.; the closing session will begin at 4:30 p.m. Monday. No childcare services are available. For a schedule of events, descriptions of breakout sessions and other information, visit www.wmu.com/events/annual.
