The team meets regularly to pray and discuss missions opportunities. Prayer is “the glue that binds us together and gives us the zeal to carry out our commitment to missions,” said church member Louise Rochester.
In addition to organizing overseas and North American mission trips, the team is active in efforts on other fronts, including “Helping Hands,” a men’s group that does home repair and yard work in the neighborhood; ministry to special-needs adults; a food closet; ministry to needy families and prison inmates; and support of a pregnancy center.
“We know that God is the ultimate provider, and we’re just the tools through whom he works,” said Rochester. “We praise him for allowing us to do this rewarding work. The blessings are beyond measure.”
A group traveled to the Pacific Rim on a short-term mission trip in 2008. Members of the team included Steve and Wanda Wall, Libby McElduff, Robbie Deaton and Aughtry Owens.
