Church doing ‘great work’

The Baptist Courier

I’m rejoicing over the great work being done through God’s people at Faith Baptist Church in Ridgeland (Aug. 6: “Faith Baptist ‘gets out the way’ and allows Christ to do his will’).

I was a member there for eight years in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The statement, “The church had never had a daily Bible school” surely struck me the wrong way. During the eight years of my membership there, the church had a daily Vacation Bible School every year. The church also had previously had VBS each year from their beginning and have had one every year since. Only when they were unable to get leaders did they do the Saturday one-day school. VBS has been a great part of the history of Faith Baptist.

Many other ministries have been done there. Their unique ministry to the nursing home is to be commended. The front door leads by a cement walkway into the nursing home, which makes it possible to bring residents in wheelchairs into the worship services.

May God bless brother Bob Crosby and the members of Faith Baptist. We are laborers together with Christ.
