I want to say a word of affirmation for Kile Antone. Kile is currently feeling God’s leadership to run for president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
I have been a mentor for Kile for several years. We have met regularly, prayed together, and dealt with many of the issues with which pastors are constantly confronted. I have seen him grow in his understanding of scripture and in his ability to pastor God’s people.
I have also seen his commitment to our Southern Baptist Convention. I have seen his commitment to our South Carolina convention as well as to his local association. His church is one that leads our state in Cooperative Program commitment. However, Kile also is a soul-winner and has seen an increasing number of baptisms in every church he has pastored. He is truly a man who loves the lost as well as the saved. I commend him without hesitation and believe that God has a great future for him.
I know that these are crucial days in our state as well as in our denomination. It is extremely important that we elect leaders who have a balanced commitment to soul-winning as well as to missions support. I believe that Kile is just such a person.
