David Garrison, a missions leader among Southern Baptists, was the keynote speaker during the 2009 Global Missions Conference at North Greenville University in September, speaking in both chapel services for the week as well as two bonus chapels in the evening.
International flags decorated the NGU campus during the 2009 Global Missions Conference.Garrison has pioneered innovative missions strategies, served as regional leader for International Mission Board field personnel working in South Asia, and has written books on church planting and evangelism strategies for reaching Muslims with the gospel.
“There were multiple opportunities during the week for students to hear about how God is at work around the world and how they can join the great task of drawing people from every nation, tribe, people and language unto him,” said Allen McWhite Sr., NGU director for global missions.
In addition to the chapel services, missionaries from across the globe were on hand to interact with the students, speak in classes, and share their ministries.
Each evening, international meals were served in the dining hall to give students a taste of other cultures.
“It is an awesome time to be on mission with God, and we encouraged students to take advantage of the three-day conference to ask themselves where in the world God wants them to plug in and be a part of taking the gospel message to the ends of the earth,” McWhite said. – NGU
