Padgett’s Creek to celebrate 225 years

The Baptist Courier

Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church, Union, will celebrate its 225th anniversary on Nov. 22. The church will observe the event with an “old-fashioned day.” After worship, a time capsule will be buried, to be unearthed in 25 years.

Padgett’s Creek recently held a joint service with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, an African-American church in the community. Some of the ancestors of present-day members of Mt. Calvary were members of Padgett’s Creek and are buried in the cemetery.
