On Nov. 8, 2009, College Street Baptist Church, Walhalla, conducted its centennial celebration service for a packed gathering of more than 540 members, former members and friends of the church family. During the service, Matthew Freeman, a student athlete at Presbyterian College and minister of music at Davidson Street Baptist Church in Clinton, was licensed to the ministry. From left: pastor Ken Reid, Craig Canton (former College Street education minister and now pastor of Westminster First Baptist), and Matt Freeman. Also, about 40 people who have been church members for at least 50 years were recognized with certificates of appreciation by the pastor and the centennial committee.
