The free breakfast and panel discussion will feature David Platt, Alvin Reid and Jay Hardwick. The three will also preach in the morning session of the Evangelism Conference.

The breakfast was organized through reFocus, a “collective endeavor to gather young leaders across South Carolina and to encourage them to reFocus on the Gospel and the Great Commission,” according to a statement at the reFocus Web site.

The statement continues: “Because we believe in the power of cooperation in ministry, we are striving to reFocus our churches and denomination in gospel-centered cooperation.”

Platt is pastor of The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Ala. Reid is an author, speaker and professor of evangelism at Southeastern Seminary. Hardwick, pastor of Awaken Church in Columbia, will facilitate the panel discussion.

Marshall Fagg, associate executive director of the South Carolina Baptist Convention’s evangelization and missions team, said it is important to “understand the hearts of next-generation leaders.”

“Our response to their perspective will be critical to effectively impacting lostness and making disciples,” Fagg said.

Interested persons may register for the breakfast and post questions for the panel discussion at AwakenColumbia.com/refocus.
