Rebekah BrooksRebekah Brooks, a senior from Gastonia, N.C., received the 12th annual Horace B. Sims Jr. Award for excellence in Christian studies at North Greenville University.
The award was presented by the dean of the College of Christian Studies, Walter Johnson, at the school’s annual awards day ceremony on April 19.
The award, which includes a cash gift, honors the memory of Horace Sims, the late pastor, South Carolina Baptist Convention president and parliamentarian, and popular columnist for The Baptist Courier.
Brooks graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in intercultural studies at the school’s commencement exercises on May 6.
