Cheryl CollierSouth Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities recently announced its fifth annual Excellence in Teaching Awards at a banquet held in Columbia. The award recognizes faculty from 20 independent institutions of higher learning for their scholarship and for their skill, commitment, and dedication to classroom teaching.
Cheryl Collier, professor of English and English department chair, was one of the recipients of the SCICU Excellence in Teaching Award for 2010. She has completed her 11th year of teaching at North Greenville University and teaches American, Southern, and African-American literature, along with upper-level writing courses.
