South Carolina students earn seminary degrees

Students with ties to South Carolina recently received degrees at Southern Baptist-affiliated theological seminaries.

 

Southern Seminary (May 14)

Matthew B. Bishop of Simpsonville earned a master of divinity from the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth. His home church is Simpsonville First Baptist.

Daniel T. Braswell of New Ellenton earned a master of divinity from the School of Theology. His home church is Foreman Memorial Baptist in New Ellenton.

Michael S. Daniel of Greenville earned a master of divinity from the School of Theology. His home church is Brushy Creek Baptist in Taylors.

James A. Fain III of Charleston received a doctor of philosophy from the School of Leadership and Church Ministry. His home church is East Cooper Baptist in Charleston.

Paul R. Huguley of Myrtle Beach was awarded a master of divinity from the School of Theology. His home church is Spartanburg First Baptist.

John Ryan Lister of Mt. Pleasant earned a doctor of philosophy from the School of Theology. His home church is East Cooper Baptist.

Art W. McCraw of Fountain Inn earned a master of divinity from the School of Theology. His home church is Simpsonville First Baptist.

Frankie J. Melton of Kershaw was awarded a doctor of philosophy from the School of Theology. His home church is Antioch Baptist in Jefferson.

Melissa P. Nethery of Fort Mill earned a doctor of philosophy from the School of Leadership and Church Ministry. Her home church is Carolinas Cornerstone in Fort Mill.

Gregory L. Reynolds of Florence was awarded a master of music from the School of Church Music and Worship. His home church is Elim Baptist.

F. Brian Smith of Charleston earned a master of divinity from the School of Theology. His home church is East Cooper Baptist.

 

New Orleans Seminary (May 15)

Courtney Jo Veasey from Middleburg, Fla., received the master of divinity with a specialization in biblical languages degree. Veasey is associate girls minister at First Baptist Church in Spartanburg. Her home church is First Baptist Church in Middleburg.

Vaughn Bowen Calcutt from Florence received the master of divinity collegiate ministry track degree. Calcutt is married to Cleve Calcutt of Florence. Her home church is Southside Baptist Church in Florence.

Mendel Harold Stewart Jr. from Pickens received the master of theology degree. Stewart is minister of education at Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Miss. His home church is First Baptist Church in Pickens.

 

Southeastern Seminary (May 28)

Southeastern Seminary and The College at Southeastern conferred degrees on 19 South Carolina students.

Thomas M. Waltz of St. Matthews earned an associate of arts degree.

Earning a bachelor of arts in biblical studies was Marshall Pierce Quesinberry of Columbia.

Adam Marshall Taylor of Gilbert graduated with a bachelor of arts in Christian studies and English.

A master of arts in intercultural studies was awarded to Myron David Duncan of Pickens.

Graduating with a master of arts in Christian studies was Adam Daniel Alms of Greenville.

Catherine Martin of Spartanburg and Jamie R. Preveax of Summerville graduated with a master of arts in Christian education and biblical counseling.

Graduating with a master of arts in women’s studies was Erin Ashley Gandy of Darlington.

William Jackson Watts of Turbeville graduated with a master of divinity with Christian apologetics.

Graduating with a master of divinity with Christian ministry were Gregory Furman Gambrell of Princeton, Harold Pershing Greene III of Conway, John Patrick Harmon of Spartanburg, Walter R. Hearn of North Augusta, Eddie Bradley Hudson of Gray Court, Adam Grayland Langley of Greenwood, Jonathan Thomas Rica of Charleston, Eric Anderson Sinclair of Clover, and Luke Watson Tolbert of Greenwood.

Brett Wilson Marlowe of Columbia graduated with a master of divinity with pastoral ministry.
