500 gather at Myrtle Beach Speedway for prayer event

A man stands and worships God during a prayer for the state of South Carolina.

More than 500 people gathered May 6 for a National Day of Prayer event at the Myrtle Beach Speedway. The prayer event was sponsored by Waccamaw Baptist Association in cooperation with the Myrtle Beach chapter of Raceway Ministries.

Prayers were led by various church and ministry leaders throughout Horry County. The event was covered by area TV stations and was the largest Day of Prayer event in Horry County.

Special guests of honor including fire and police department personnel, the school superintendent, service men and women, and missionaries.
