WelchNorthbrook Baptist Church, Boiling Springs, will hold its annual Upstate Evangelism Conference Aug. 1-4.
The event, which brings together noted preachers and teachers from across the Southern Baptist Convention, is also sponsored by cooperating churches in the area. Wayne Dickard, former president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention, is pastor at Northbrook.
Program personalities at the 2010 conference will include:
– Charles T. Carter, teaching fellow at Beeson Divinity School, Samford University, Birmingham, Ala.;
– Darrell Coulter, pastor, Joy Baptist Church, Charleston;
– David Gallamore, pastor, Rock Springs Baptist Church, Easley;
– Braxton Hunter, evangelist and director of Trinity Crusades for Christ, Newburgh, Ind.;
– Herb Reavis, pastor, North Jacksonville Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla.;
– Phil Waldrep, author and evangelist, Phil Waldrep Ministries, Trinity, Ala.; and
– Bobby Welch, retired pastor and former president of the Southern Baptist Convention and co-developer of the F.A.I.T.H. evangelism strategy thought to be the most widely used by Southern Baptist churches.
Music will be provided by Phil Cross, Joe and Suzanne Hopkins, and area community choirs. On Aug. 3, the Rock Springs Baptist Church choir and orchestra will provide music. Worship begins nightly at 6:30.
A pastor’s banquet will be held at 5 p.m. on Aug. 2. The meal is free to pastors and their wives. Because of limited seating, reservations are encouraged by calling 864-578-2696. Herb Reavis will speak at the banquet.
On Aug. 3, a free “pizza blast” at 5 p.m. is open to all youth.
