West Side schedules ‘Labor Day Jubilee’

West Side Baptist Church in Spartanburg will hold a “South Carolina Labor Day Jubilee,” featuring “old fashioned” preaching and special music, Sept. 1-5.

Services will begin nightly at 7:00. Scheduled speakers include, on Wednesday: Herb Reavis, senior pastor of First Baptist Church, North Jacksonville, Fla.; on Thursday: Phil Hoskins, pastor of Higher Ground Baptist Church, Kingsport, Tenn.; on Friday: Roc Collins, pastor of Indian Springs Baptist Church, Kingsport, Tenn.; and on Saturday: Kelly Burris, pastor of Kempsville Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, Va. Also speaking each night will be J.L. Cook, president of the North Carolina College of Theology at Carolina Beach.

Guest singers for the five-night event include The Hayes Family, The Greenes, J.L. Cook, Eighth Day, Squire Parsons and Dennis Benton.

While there is no cost for attending the Jubilee services, meals may be purchased on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Meals will be served beginning at 5 p.m.
