Be careful of complaining

The Baptist Courier

In C.S. Lewis’ “The Screwtape Letters,” Screwtape (Satan) says, “The Church itself is a fertile field if you just keep them bickering over details, structure, organization, money, property, personal hurts and misunderstandings. One thing you must prevent, don’t ever let them look up and see the banners flying, for if they ever see the banners flying you have lost them forever.”

The biggest challenge to the Great Commission Resurgence comes from Satan, who does not want us to win the lost. If we are not careful, what we pastors complain of in the local church, we contribute to in the larger church. Thanks for the cover story on “S.C. lauded for baptism growth” (Aug. 19). Thank God for over 500 who showed up for the “GCR Conversation.”
