Calvin Wesley Morrow, 84, of Rock Hill, died Sept. 10, 2010, at a hospice house in Rock Hill.
Born in Greenville on April 10, 1926, he was a graduate of North Greenville College and attended Furman University.
He was a member and pastor emeritus of Calvary Baptist Church, Rock Hill. He was a pastor of South Carolina churches for more than 45 years, including Hilltop Avenue Baptist of Greenville; Calvary Baptist of Greer; Skull Shoals and Rehoboth Baptist churches of Gaffney; West Side Baptist of Chester; and Calvary Baptist of Rock Hill.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. While in the service, he accepted Christ – as he loved to tell the story – “in a little quonset hut” in Gulf Port, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Frances Dickard Morrow. Survivors include three children, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
