Daughter writes memoir of Harry Dent

The Baptist Courier

The late Harry S. Dent Jr., of South Carolina, was arguably one of the most influential politicians of the modern era. He revitalized and reshaped the Republican Party, resetting its course after the fiasco that was the Nixon/Watergate scandal.

While much of Dent’s success is attributed to his ability to rally the party’s conservative base in the South, his daughter’s new book, “Finding True Freedom: From the White House to the World,” reveals a more powerful source of the political pioneer’s passion and resilience: his complex relationship with his daughter and his acceptance of Christ as his Lord and Savior.

The intersecting spiritual pilgrimages of Ginny Dent Brant and her father are poignant reminders of the power of God’s restoration. The author, a member of Crosspoint Church in Clemson, is a former trustee of the International Mission Board and is president of Laity Alive and Serving, which her father started in 1985.

“Finding True Freedom” is a memoir that goes above and beyond a child reliving specific moments in time with her father. Well-documented, the book takes readers on a fascinating journey through one great man’s redemption and relationships – all through the lens of one who remained close to his heart.

“Finding True Freedom” has received endorsements from Chuck Colson, Mike Huckabee, Jim DeMint, J.C. Watts, Avery Willis, Joseph Tson and Bobbye Rankin.
