Arthur F. Smith Sr., 72, of Pauline, a retired pastor, died Dec. 29, 2010.
Smith was born in Valley Falls on July 23, 1938. He was a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. He was a retired Southern Baptist pastor and had served various churches in North and South Carolina.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Edwina Pruitt Smith, include four children, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
