Minister, do you care for people? People do not care how much we know or what we do in the church till they are convinced we genuinely love them.
I was struck at one prophecy of the end time. The love of many will grow cold (Matthew 24:12). How many times will it take being cut off in traffic, or having promises broken, or experiencing a cold-hearted reaction in church before you experience compassion fatigue? When I was in the Army, I heard a major say that because no one dims their headlights, he too just drove with his lights on high beam. Everyone suffers when a society becomes less caring.
If you are looking for a new strategy for church work, I suggest you join me in seeking to maintain a vibrant love for others that only the Holy Spirit can shed abroad in our hearts.
