Evans P. Whitaker, president of Anderson University, has contributed a chapter to the just-released “Christian Leadership Essentials: A Handbook for Managing Christian Organizations,” edited by David S. Dockery.

Whitaker’s chapter is one of three dealing with financial aspects of organizations.

The new book is being hailed as a critical resource for those who lead or manage within Christian organizations. Frank Page, president of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention, said the book “brings together various visions into a common thread of helping good leaders become better, while helping solid organizations become even more effective.”

Dockery, president of Union University in Jackson, Tenn., writes in his preface that the contributors have served a collective 350 years in senior leadership roles in academic church, mission, and parachurch ministries. The book is recommended reading for current leaders, future leaders, and board members of Christian organizations of all types.

Other contributors include Thom Rainer, president, LifeWay Christian Resources; Robert Sloan, president, Houston Baptist University; and Robert Andringa, president emeritus of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities.

The book is available from LifeWay Christian Stores, Amazon, and other major book retailers. – AU
