Sustaining prayer

The Baptist Courier

I would like to share an experience I witnessed in my Sunday school class last Sunday. It may be able to help family members and loved ones of people serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.

A lady, whose son is to be deployed to Afghanistan, prayed in this manner: “Lord, protect my son as he serves in Afghanistan and bring him back safely.” Then she added, “I know you will.”

If loved ones who have family members serving in the war prayed in this manner, it may relieve them of much stress and anxiety.

This kind of prayer will be putting into practice the verse of Scripture which states: “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee” (Isaiah 55:22).
