Mt. Bethel Church, Belton, held a 175th anniversary celebration May 15. The congregation was organized Feb. 13, 1836. The rural church is located five miles south of Belton on the Due West Highway.
Former pastors Landrum Reece and Bobby Caldwell were guest speakers at the 10:30 a.m. service. Other former pastors and their families were also in attendance. Dinner was served on the grounds, and the Centurions presented a concert of sacred music.

A clapboard meeting house was built in 1873 and used until 1924.
