In response to “Close Facebook, open Good Book” (“Your Views,” July 7), Facebook is a main communication tool in the 21st century.
I personally use Facebook to spread the gospel and encouragement all the time. Sure, it is abused and misused, like many things in this world, but we as Christians have to use whatever tools and means necessary to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth. Facebook and other social media are just another means of doing so. The world needs more encouragement, and I make it my daily goal to be a Barnabas via Facebook in my sphere of influence.
You can’t hold the use of Facebook against LifeWay. They are just keeping up with the times and trying to reach the younger generation, which, after all, is the future of the church.
