Eddie and Frances Willis

He is currently pastor of Friendship Church, North Charleston. He and his wife will plant a church through the Urban Atlanta Church Planting network. The network has a goal of starting 100 new churches in the densely populated area within the city’s I-285 perimeter by the end of 2014.

UACP is a cooperative effort of the Georgia Baptist Convention and local associations, North American Mission Board and LifeWay, whose stated goal is to intentionally plant relevant, reproducing congregations that produce community transformation.

Eddie Willis attended Liberty University and Atlantic Baptist Bible College. He has worked as a camp counselor, youth pastor and pastor, and has been a lead pastor for the past 14 years. Frances Willis has worked in schools and in childcare and has ministered through church with women and children.

Approximately 878,000 people live inside Atlanta’s I-285 perimeter, and more than 700,000 do not attend church.

Of the 166 Southern Baptist churches that existed in the 1960s within the perimeter, only 39 are still in existence.
