Ty Childers, president of the South Carolina Baptist Pastor’s Conference, hopes pastors and others who attend the 2011 Pastor’s Conference Nov. 14 in Cayce will leave feeling encouraged in their ministries.

Indeed, the theme for the conference is “Be Encouraged!” and Childers, pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Spartanburg, believes the lineup of preachers and musicians will uplift and inspire listeners.

“As we study God’s word, we read about difficulties, pressures, storms, trials and trouble,” Childers said. “Some of these come without warning. I am so thankful that Jesus knows, he carries and he will be there with us in the midst of it all.”

“The men I have lined up to preach, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, are men who have walked through the fire and can say that the Lord was, and is, Lord in the fire as much as he is out of the fire,” he said. Childers said the speakers have been in the same difficult places some pastors are “right now in [their] life and ministry.”

“These men are still serving and striving to be what the Lord would have them be,” he said.

Childers said he hopes pastors will attend and bring with them church members and fellow pastors.

Speakers for the Pastor’s Conference, to be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce, include Daniel Dickard, Brad Goodale, Danny Gray, David Gallamore, Dwight Easler, Len Turner and Phil Waldrep.

Worship will be led by music evangelist Mike Speck. The evening worship session will feature music by the Mike Speck Trio and a joint choir made up of members from the churches of the North Spartan Association.
