Jerry Sosebee has been named associate director of the church health and Cooperative Program group at the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
Sosebee will lead in stewardship development and promotion as well as assisting with the Church Health Assessment and Mobilization Planning Strategy (CHAMPS). He began work Sept. 1.
Sosebee“We are thrilled to have Dr. Sosebee’s experience and passion join us in assisting South Carolina Baptist churches to move toward greater health,” said Gary Anderson, director of the church health and Cooperative Program group. “In these days of continued economic uncertainty, the promotion of biblical stewardship as a part of revitalization efforts is essential.”
“Church health and Cooperative Program development are highlighted needs in convention life,” said Jim Austin, SCBC executive director-treasurer. “Jerry’s strong record as a gifted pastor and enthusiastic Cooperative Program supporter provides us with timely leadership for our state convention.”
Sosebee served four churches in North Carolina and South Carolina before becoming pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Rock Hill, where he served since 1993. He holds undergraduate degrees from Anderson and Furman universities, a master of divinity degree from Southeastern Seminary, and a doctor of ministry degree from Erskine Seminary.
Sosebee and his wife Gail have two grown sons. – SCBC
