Charleston resident publishes first book in Christian fiction series

The Baptist Courier

Charles J. Williams Jr. of Charleston has written a Christian novel, “What Does the Bible Say?”

The book was 10 years in the making and is reflective of much of the author’s 17 years as a pastor. Williams has served three Southern Baptist churches in South Carolina and is now a member of Charleston Baptist Church.

His novel is the first in a planned “In His Very Steps” Christian fiction series, which will seek to emphasize biblical Christian education, according to a press release.

“What Does the Bible Say?” begins by introducing a transient family looking for a new beginning. The city’s residents and its prominent minister are too busy to provide the single mother with the help she and her children desperately need. Tragedy strikes, and sins are realized. Repentant, the minister challenges his church to embark on a one-year commitment to make no decision without first answering the question, “What does the Bible say?”

Williams’ novel is available in paperback at ihvsbooks.com, Amazon.com, and Family Christian bookstores in Citadel and Northwoods Malls in Charleston. E-book formats are also available for all e-reader devices.

Williams is a graduate of The Citadel and has served as an officer in the United States Navy. He has a doctorate in theology and is a candidate for a doctorate in education from Walden University.
