Scholarships available through SCBC

The Baptist Courier

Scholarships for South Carolina Baptist college and seminary students pursuing a church-related vocation are now available through the state convention’s collegiate ministry group.

Active resident members of a South Carolina Baptist church who are enrolled in a South Carolina college or university or a Southern Baptist seminary are eligible to apply. Southern Baptist missionary dependents whose parents list South Carolina as their home state are also eligible to receive the scholarship.

Scholarships are based on financial need, and funds are sent directly to the institution to be applied for tuition, room and board, and academic fees. The funds are provided through the Cooperative Program and the Richard Furman Scholarship Fund.

College scholarships are awarded to full-time students who have made a public commitment to a church-related vocation, are active resident members of a South Carolina Southern Baptist church for at least nine months prior to the beginning of the academic year, and agree to participate in a ministry-related experience each week.

Richard Furman Scholarships for seminary students are awarded to South Carolinians who are members of a Southern Baptist church and are attending one of the six Southern Baptist seminaries.

Applications may be completed online at www.scbcrvs.org by March 15. For further information: 803-765-0030, ext. 4400 or by e-mail at CRVS@scbaptist.org. – SCBC
