Letters: Dismayed over pastors’ views

The Baptist Courier

I was dismayed to read that 17 percent of those who claim the calling of God in their lives are so unwilling to believe his Word – specifically, those who do not believe in a literal Adam and Eve (“Poll: Pastors oppose evolution, split on earth’s age,” Jan. 19).

I would be interested in seeing the study expanded to let us know what seminaries these pastors graduated from. What a shame to attend a school that could cause one to doubt the very Word of God. Jesus believed in and referred to Adam and Eve. If he knew they were not real yet referred them as he did, it would have been dissembling – a sin. Are these pastors willing to go so far in their disbelief? It is so much easier to simply believe the Word – from Genesis (yes, even the first 11 chapters) to Revelation.
