The WMU of Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church, Union, recently donated school supplies to Foster Park Elementary School.

The Vessels of Light group from Northside Baptist Church, Lexington, sang Christmas carols for homebound members and for residents at a local healthcare facility. The caroling is but one of the group’s ministries, which include a variety of missions fund-raising and awareness activities throughout the year.

Residents, staff, family and friends of Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community, Laurens, recently donated hundreds of non-perishable food items and a check to the Laurens Baptist Crisis Center. The theme of the food drive was “Bringing Gifts to the King,” and was an active way for the community to show the spirit of love and giving during the Christmas season. Robert Meade (left) was licensed to the ministry by College Park Baptist Church, Ladson, on Jan. 1. He serves as a deacon and Sunday school director at College Park, and is currently enrolled as a ministerial student at Charleston Southern University. Presenting the certificate of license to Meade is interim pastor Bill Archer.

Corinth and Park Hills Baptist churches, both in Broad River Association, held a combined worship service at Corinth on Jan. 8 to ordain Michael Travis Ohler to the ministry. He currently serves as youth director at Park Hills, but Corinth is his home church. The service was led by Dwight Easler, pastor of Corinth, and Larry Sanders, pastor of Park Hills, shown presenting the ordination certificate and a Bible to Ohler.

The Women on Mission at Forest Hill Baptist Church, Anderson, recently made ponchos as Christmas gifts for the children at Sunshine House in Anderson. The group, which meets monthly for Bible study and project planning, chose the ponchos as their project for December.
