The GAs from Allendale-Hampton Baptist Association visited Camp Jackson in Allendale for a retreat on Feb. 11. Guest speakers included retired missionaries Rodolph and May Dixon, who served in Peru, and worship time was led by Christin Clark and Chana Arthur. Special music was provided by the “Just Say Jesus” band, led by Don Sanders of Blackville, and Cindy Skelton of the state WMU assisted with crafts and games.

A “Focus on WMU” reunion was held Feb. 19 at First Baptist Church, Leesville. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the group leaders for their many years of service. Pictured with pastor Charles Leonhardt are Drucilla Long (Mission Movers), Susan Hallman (current WMU director), Tense Patton (current missions), Faye Reynolds (former GA and Acteen leader) and Myrtle Bush (longest-serving member). A luncheon was held in their honor following the presentation.

Cross Roads Baptist Church, Ruby, was able to double the number of prisoner packets it donated this year – thanks to the efforts of 87-year-old Kathleen Hancock (pictured here) and her daughter, Elma Jenkins, who purchased the supplies and assembled the packets for delivery.

Betty Jo Aldridge, a member of the Fidelis Sunday school class at Providence Baptist Church, Gaffney, recently used her knitting skills to make 200 caps for the Seafarer’s Ministry in Charleston.

Bethea Baptist Retirement Community and Health Care Center raised $1,140 for Connie Maxwell Children’s Home at its annual Come to Bethlehem presentation in December. The check was presented to Connie Maxwell during Bethea’s Feb. 6 appreciation dinner.
