The three-day Ethnic America Network’s Ethnic Ministries Summit, co-sponsored by the South Carolina Baptist Convention and the Spartanburg County Baptist Network, kicked off April 19 with a multicultural worship service at Evangel Cathedral in Spartanburg.

The summit, held in South Carolina for the first time, was two years in the making. Jim Goodroe, director of missions for Spartanburg County Network, was a key planner for the event. More than 70 international ethnicities and people groups are represented in Spartanburg County alone.

In addition to public worship services, the summit featured plenary sessions, seminars on increasing outreach effectiveness, and networking opportunities for ethnic affinity groups.
