Rosa Smith (right), WMU leader at Mid-Valley Baptist Church, Aiken Association, recently had a surprise visit from “Annie Armstrong” during an Adults On Mission meeting at the church. “Annie” was played by Susan Keene.

 

Royal Ambassadors and their leaders gathered at Jamestown Baptist Church March 24 to have fun and to compete in the Waccamaw Associational “RA Racers” event. Mickey Hyman, RA consultant and a member of the Waccamaw WMU leadership team, said the event is an excellent interest activity for outreach and evangelism, capturing the boys’ imagination while building friendships with boys from other churches. Twenty-eight boys came with their leaders to enjoy breakfast and the competition in preparation for RA Congress and Field Day at Connie Maxwell Children’s Home in Greenwood.

 

Reedy Creek Baptist Church, Marion, was the host for Marion Baptist Association’s Children’s Ministry Day on Feb. 19. More than 50 GAs and leaders attended the event. The group’s mission project was to collect used books for area schools, including a note in each book to remind them of Jesus’ love. Ellen Smoak, Amanda Miller and Beth Hucks are the associational GA leaders.

 

The GAs and Young Believers classes from Southside Baptist Church, Anderson, gathered at Homeland Park Elementary School for Children’s Ministry Day on Feb. 23. The children, along with leaders Stacey Gibson and Barbara Blaney, helped clean up the school grounds and wrote chalk messages of encouragement on the sidewalk for the teachers and staff.

 

First Baptist Church, Barnwell, recently presented a musical drama, “The Living Last Supper.” “It’s all based on what Jesus said the night of the last supper – that one of his disciples will betray him,” said Michael Pisacreta, music director for the event. Pictured are church members playing the parts of Jesus and the 12 disciples, along with the choir.

 

Teri Parker Lewis, a member of Earle Street Baptist Church, Greenville, recently presented “Letters of Annie Armstrong” at her home church. Parker Lewis, a professionally trained actress who has portrayed missions advocate Armstrong at churches around the state since 2007, teaches drama and dance at the Fine Arts Center in Greenville.
