The first of three books written by evangelist Frank Shivers of Columbia and designed for students – this one entitled “Hot Buttons on Apologetics” – has been released and is drawing praise from youth leaders in South Carolina.

“Once again,” says Jarrett McNeely, student pastor at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Moore, “Frank Shivers has produced a timely and relevant book for this generation.” McNeely called the book “a must in my arsenal to help students navigate through the obstacles of this world and to arrive firmly on the solid truth of God’s word.”

Tripp Atkinson, student minister at First Baptist Church in Columbia praised the first volume of the “Hot Buttons” series a “homerun,” adding that the book is “one of the best resources I’ve seen for helping students and adults alike wrap their minds around apologetics.”

Shivers said the series of books for students includes “Hot Buttons on Morality” and “Hot Buttons on Christian Discipleship,” due for release in the early summer and early fall.

Each volume in the “Hot Buttons” series is designed for personal and/or group study, and includes an “ask yourself” section as an aid for application at the conclusion of each topic.

Information on purchase of the book is available from the Frank Shivers Evangelistic Association, P.O. Box 9991, Columbia, S.C. 29290 or at www.frankshivers.com.

Shivers,a vocational evangelist since 1974, is a graduate of Charleston Southern University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His ministry includes student camps and retreats at Longridge Camp and Retreat Center in Ridgeway.
