Letter: Church silent for too long

The Baptist Courier

We, the members of Trinity Baptist Church, Galilee Road, Barnwell, believe that the church of our Lord Jesus has been silent too long on the moral issues of our day and what the Holy Bible has to say about same-sex marriages. The Bible is clear that God ordained marriage to be between man and woman, which he created in the beginning to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth (Genesis 1:28). To deny the truth of God’s word is to call God’s word a lie.

We believe that Christians are to follow God instead of those who are making God’s word a lie. We need to read and understand Romans 1:25 concerning those “who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator.” Romans 1:26 tells us: “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature,” and verse 27 reads, “Likewise, the men also.”

We would like to challenge all Christians and all churches to take a stand for God and against the low morality that is so evident in our day and against those who are leading America into the lowest morality of man.

If you believe God’s word is true, will you take a stand for God and the truth of his Holy Bible?
