Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church, Union, held Vacation Bible School June 4-8, reporting an average attendance of 90 students and adults.

 

Cayce First Baptist Church held baptism on June 10 for five new members: Kathy Stewart, Sydney Franklin, Bear Franklin, Shawn Franklin, and Halen Franklin. Pete Cassidy is interim pastor at Cayce First Baptist.

 

The Mission Study Group of Temple Baptist Church, Simpsonville, recently made 1,426 caps, which they shipped to Charleston to be distributed to seafarers arriving from international ports. Over the last seven years, the women have made more than 6,000 caps, which are presented to seafarers along with gospel tracts in 12 languages. James Rehoric was baptized May 27 at Wren Baptist Church, Piedmont, by pastor Harold Sanders. He is shown receiving a certificate of baptism.

 

Ehrhardt Baptist Church, Barnwell-Bamberg Association, held Vacation Bible School May 28-June 1, with the theme “Amazing Wonders Aviation.” Kelley Shanks is pastor at Ehrhardt.

 

Fairview Baptist Church, Spartanburg, held Vacation Bible School May 27-June 1, using the theme “Amazing Wonders Aviation.” A total of $329.68 was collected for the church’s new ministry, A Manna Place food pantry. Ty Childers is pastor.

 

Gerri Hall (first photo) and Hunter Adams (second photo) were baptized on May 20 at Fairview Baptist Church, Kinards, by pastor Shannon Faulkner.

 

Barbara Smith (left), a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church, Fort Mill, felt led to use her dressmaking skills to help girls in need – and was able to make more than 100 dresses that were sent to Nicaragua and Africa, and 35 to Lynch, Ky. Smith was assisted by Jeanette Corzine (center) and Norma Bishoff (right), retired employees of Westminster Fibers, who donated material for the project.

 

Brian Campbell was baptized by pastor Sammie Godfrey at First Baptist Church, Gray Court, on May 6.

 

The youth from Fairforest Baptist Church, Union, began their summer mission projects on May 26 at an area apartment complex. They served refreshments, played games and gave out prizes to the children in the complex, and left goodie bags at each apartment that included information about upcoming events at the church. Pictured are the youth and their leaders with some of the children at the playground.
