Casey Creek Baptist Church, Chesnee, held Vacation Bible School June 17-21, using the theme “Sky: Everything is Possible with God.” A total of $458.23 was raised for cancer patient Ethan Tolleson to help with his medical expenses. Ansel Norris is interim pastor at Casey Creek.

Virginia “Ginny” Schoenly, the oldest resident at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center in Laurens at 105, was recently visited by retired Gaffney Municipal Court Judge Jack Allison, a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church in Gaffney and a trustee of Martha Franks.

The Mission Study Group of Temple Baptist Church, Simpsonville, recently made 1,426 caps, which they shipped to Charleston to be distributed to seafarers arriving from international ports. Over the last seven years, the women have made more than 6,000 caps, which are presented to seafarers along with gospel tracts in 12 languages. Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Conway, held Vacation Bible School June 11-15. Kick Off Saturday on June 9 featured a community cookout and games. Each night while VBS was taking place at the church, volunteers from the college and career Sunday school class manned tents outside the church, offering free food and invitations to VBS.
