“I believe apologetics is spiritual awakening’s best friend,” said McFarland, director for Christian worldview and apologetics at North Greenville and a nationally recognized advocate for apologetics.

McFarland said the conference will prepare churches to “reach and teach,” and attendees will discover how apologetics “empowers people of all ages to live their faith and share it effectively.”

The conference will bring together some of the world’s most well-known Christian speakers and writers, including Josh McDowell, author of some 115 books, including the best-selling “Evidence That Demands a Verdict,” ranked 13th in Christianity Today’s list of most influential evangelical books published after World War II; and Eric Metaxas, author of “Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy.” Other speakers include Dinesh D’Souza, Hank Hanegraaff and Mark Mittelberg, among others.

Sessions will address such topics as Christian worldview, church planting, prayer, discernment, church leadership and discipleship, evangelism and Islam, along with family-related issues such as women’s issues, abortion, same-sex marriage, euthanasia and bioethics.

The conference will also address such questions as: Is there proof that God exists? Is the Bible historically reliable? Did Jesus Christ rise from the grave? How can apologetics help my church win lost people to Christ?
