Ulysses Craig Neill Jr., 92, of Anderson, a retired pastor and executive director of Haven of Rest Ministries, died Aug. 23, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
NeillBorn in Gastonia, N.C., he was a graduate of Gastonia High School, Anderson College and Erskine Seminary. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Neill served as pastor of Martha Drive Baptist, Homeland Park Baptist, and Shiloh Baptist churches in Anderson, Southside Baptist Church in Abbeville, and was interim pastor at several churches in the area.
He was one of the founders and served as executive director of the Haven of Rest Ministries of Anderson and was pastor emeritus of Homeland Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances M. Neill, three children, two stepchildren, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Neill was preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Grace Grizzle Neill.
