North Greenville University has set the most ambitious fundraising goal in its 120-year existence: $25 million by 2016.
Donors have already given $16.8 million toward the goal. The capital campaign seeks to raise funds for a multipurpose athletic and worship center and a science building renovation, among other projects.
In 2016, the school will mark 125 years of existence, and Jimmy Epting will observe his 25th year as president.
The campaign will formally kick off Oct. 16, when supporters gather at the TD Convention Center in Greenville for a concert by 4Him and a keynote speech from Alex Kendrick of Sherwood Pictures, which produced “Facing the Giants,” “Fireproof” and “Courageous.”
“This will be a night that will change lives,” said Epting. “Yes, we are trying to raise money for the school to help future generations, but at the same time we desire to influence people and bring them closer to Christ.”
