First Baptist Church of Cayce will celebrate its 100th anniversary Oct. 21 with a special worship service beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Former members are expected to join the congregation for the celebration, said interim pastor Pete Cassidy. Representatives from Lexington Baptist Association and the South Carolina Baptist Convention will also be present, along with community leaders.

Mike Partridge, music director, will lead an expanded church choir during the centennial celebration service.

Cayce First Baptist was established in 1912 with 12 members. Located at 600 Holland Avenue in Cayce, the church worships in a sanctuary that was built in 1974. A three-story educational building that was erected in 1950 continues to serve the church. After a fire destroyed the historic stone church building in 1983, a new fellowship hall was built in its place.

Cassidy expressed his thanks to “the many dozens of faithful members who have served in the ministry of Cayce First Baptist Church over the past 100 years.”
