Members of a Marion church say they want to return America to the “moral character [of its] forefathers.” Darrell Floyd, pastor of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, told the Marion Star and Mullins Enterprise that a church service held in July was “not political,” but was intended to encourage members “to vote their conscience, no matter if it’s Democratic, Republican or independent – as God has led them to do.” Church members were encouraged to plant small American flags on the church lawn to symbolize their commitment.

During the month of September, the WMU of Antioch Baptist Church, Galivants Ferry, collected 160 pounds of dry beans to donate to the Grits N Grace food bank in Aynor. Pictured are the members at their Sept. 17 “Latte and Moon Pie” celebration in honor of Lottie Moon.

Ladies from several Upstate Baptist churches – Burnsview, Abner Creek and Apalache – recently joined Duncan First Baptist Church on a mission project sponsored by the Women on Mission. The group sent 257 dresses, 152 hats, boys pants and shirts, and 200 Spanish-language tracts with the plan of salvation. Duncan First Baptist has sent mission teams to El Salvador, Nicaragua and Guyana. Pictured with the ladies are two men who led the Nicaragua mission team.
