In November 2011, the Light family of Patrick, S.C., experienced a house fire in the middle of the night.

Awakened by the fire, 28-year-old Clifford Light began evacuating his family from the burning structure. He was able to get his wife, Candace, and two young children out safely before returning for their third child.
While rescuing the young boy by passing him through a window, the floor collapsed beneath him. Clifford died in the fire.
In the spring of 2012, South Carolina Baptist Campers on Mission learned about the family tragedy while working at Camp Pinehill in Bennettsville. A local church, other community organizations and individuals had begun to build a house for the family. Campers on Mission members got involved and recently had the privilege of helping to complete the home.
Candace Light said the Campers on Mission were a blessing to her and her family.
