While ministry reports continue to come in through the end of the year, several churches posted online responses to WMU within a few days about ways they shared God’s love with those living closest to them.

Julie Gartman, a member of Dean Swamp Baptist Church in Springfield and WMU director for Edisto Association, reported that members of the association hosted a food drive for community pantries. A group also helped sort food at a pantry in Perry Baptist Church, Salley. Columbia First Baptist Church members delivered gift bags with personal toiletries to senior adult residents at a facility in Lexington.

Members of Ariel Baptist Church, Coward, delivered baked goods and shared the gospel with members of their community.

Wanda Scoggins, WMU director and member of Park Street Baptist Church, Columbia, reported that members of her church helped the Transport for Christ truck ministry by cleaning an outside area, assembling and distributing goody bags, writing prayer letters, and praying with truck drivers.

Fairview Baptist Church, Greer, delivered baked goods to the Greer Police Department. Aiken Association members held a yard sale that included intentional evangelism.

Irene Murphy, WMU associate working with the Department of Juvenile Justice, reported that four churches collaborated to provide a fall festival for DJJ youth. – SCBC
