Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley will host the 2013 South Carolina Baptist Evangelism Conference, Feb. 19-21.
Baptist pastors and laity from across both Carolinas are expected to attend the Tuesday through Thursday meetings, which will feature evangelistic preachers from across America. The three days will mark South Carolina Baptists’ thrust for reaching the unreached in 2013 under the theme of “The Power of One!”
Don Gibson of Rock Springs, will direct the music. Each session will include congregational singing and anthems by a combined choir of hundreds of voices from Rock Springs and other area churches. Additionally, soloists and groups will perform at each session.
The conference preaching will be led by:
– Brandon Blair, of Langston Baptist Church, Conway. Prior to his work as a youth minister, Blair was a decorated member of the U.S. Marine Corps with a Purple Heart for wounds received in battle.
– Phil Hoskins, pastor of Higher Ground Baptist Church, Kingsport, Tenn.
– Bob Pitman, Florence, Ala., an evangelist, Bible conference speaker, and professor at Mid-America Seminary.
– Herb Reavis, pastor of North Jacksonville Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla.
– Jerry Spencer, evangelist and pastor from Bainbridge, Ga.
– Jerry Vines, of Atlanta, Ga., who was the long-time pastor of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla.
– Bobby Welch, of the Tennessee Baptist Convention, who is leading Baptists in a world vision thrust to take the gospel message to all nations.
– Don Wilton, pastor of First Baptist Church, Spartanburg.
– Coach Jerry Moore of the Appalachian State University football program, who will speak at the general session and at the Student Ministry Experience for the students and youth leaders.
Breakout sessions will be led by Lee Clamp, Ron Barker, and Randall Jones of the convention’s evangelism office, and by Jim Austin, SCBC executive director-treasurer.
